A recent study has revealed a shocking prevalence of mental stress in Bharat. At least 13.7 percent of Bharat’s general population has been projected to be suffering from a variety of mental stress, and 10.6 percent of this requires immediate intervention. In all, nearly 150 million are in need of active support. The stats say that for every ten thousand of the mentally stressed population there are only 0.8 trained counselling support available.

Helping hand to the needy at critical time in their life will go a long way in bringing a smile on the faces of the affected people. It is important for every one of us to extend any possible help and support to our fellow humans during their time of contingency.

Keeping all these things in mind,–a voluntary organization supported by enthusiastic volunteers formed Aapta Salaha Kendra® (ASK). “ASK” works towards networking with the parenting people (aapta salahakar) in our neighborhood to help the distressed, needy people to bring them out from their mentally stressed life and experience beautiful life.

ASK is an attempt to build a network of wise and mature people who will be the “ear to hear” some of these issues and resolve them based on their own life experiences and wisdom. These trained ‘well-wishers’ can be contacted for ANY advice (no fees charged, confidentiality maintained). The Professors at NIMHANS, Samadhana (an Organization working in counselling field) and other elders will regularly guide this network.

Each of us have the ability to become “aapta salahakar”. It only needs commitment, passion and willingness to help the needy. If any of you are interested to volunteer your services and work as “aapta salahakar” please register yourself with this website and we will approach you for further discussions.
